Module A: Introduction (compulsory module, 10 ECTS)

Content: Since the master’s programme is interdisciplinary and the students come from different backgrounds, the module provides a basic introduction to the disciplines of law, politics, economics, culture and history, their interrelatedness as well as their methods and approaches. It further equips the students with the foundational knowledge on the political history of the South-Eastern European region.

Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this module, students will be able to:

• understand the interdisciplinarity of law, politics, economics and culture and area studies
• examine the history of South-Eastern Europe in a comparative and regional perspective
• interpret current social and political events in the light of historical developments
